Mr Gregory Sauvage
General Manager
What is your vision for your business unit and how will you execute it?
ULO has been a recognized provider of technical solutions for the offshore Oil and Gas industry since many years and it is very exciting to join the Group and drive the Business Unit on its next transformative journey. Our focus is on the wider energy & power industry, applying our products and know-how in the offshore and subsea arena. Sustainability, De-carbonization and digitalization are the ‘buzz words’ of the industry globally – rightly so for our future – and the opportunities associated with the offshore renewable, power and telecoms cable-laying and Life of Field extensions shall capture our efforts. Moving forward, we must be even more efficient, keep developing best methods, be creative, innovative and be present alongside our customers in many regions of the world.
How do you lead through change?
Change is a continuous process and must be driven on a daily basis. I do believe in the statement that to be perfect you must change often; as we never reach perfection, we must keep at it. The key is to communicate effectively; as leaders, it always starts by us doing that right.
How has the journey with the organization been so far? Tell us about some memories that stand out.
It has been very interesting journey indeed. I hardly stepped into my office and started to get to know the team and the COVID-19 brought its extra lot of challenges, running the business with multi-sites operating individuals. In the long run, what we are going through will give an extra resilience to all of us.
What message would you like to give all the employees in the organization?
We are blessed with a much diversified organization whilst being part of an extended family. Make the most of it and grow as one: opportunities are all around us.
What is your recipe for success?
Success comes with a well communicated and clear vision, when you work effectively as a team and use all the talents around you.
We have all seen the professional Mr. Gregory. How would you describe yourself when you are with friends and family?
I am active for sure, as well as a good listener, observer and supportive. I enjoy spending time with my wife and children. We keep learning a lot from the new generation as they grow.
What do you like to do when you are not working?
I enjoy the out door. Having spent most of my childhood in the French Alps, I am passionate about mountains trekking and skiing. In Dubai, it will be mostly early morning run and walking the dogs.
If you had to choose an alternative career, what would you be/do?
I would be driving new technology sustainable development projects like green Hydrogen infrastructure in Middle East and Africa.
